Balancing Life Like On A Skating Wheels
- Skating is nothing but walking in a different way: Skating is nothing but walking in a different way. We already know how to walk on legs and balance our body on 2 feet , just we need to learn how we walk on wheels.
- Skating makes us learn that a minute changes in our normal way to do things can make us feel so measurable, helpless and incapable : The first step in skating is to stand on skates and balance yourself, believe me it was so difficult to even stand on skates, I rolled to ground several times before I came to know that theres a different way to stand on wheels, we need to bend our knees and make our legs stiff. See, it was so simple to stand on wheels but before we learned the way we felt it is not for us.
- Sometimes we should try to do our normal task differently: After learning to skate, I felt the need that we should always engage ourselves to learn new things and try to do our daily tasks in a different way which will make us realise that how much is there to learn in the world, and it also keeps our leg firmed to ground and protect us from being overconfident and boasting about our strength.
- Never leave any task/dream just because initially it feels how difficult it is to achieve: The day I started skating I wasn't even able to stand on wheels, so how can I even dream of skate on my wheels, it was very clear that i wasn't build for this sport. However, I never made my self believe that I am not made for skates and practiced being an adult learner (as most of my skating mates are kids in between 3-12 years old), and consistency and focus made me to stand on wheels, walk on wheels, slide on wheels and finally now even I can jump on my wheels...but these were not achieved overnight, each new move came with a lot of rounds of practice, falling, pain and discomfort. So the key take away is consistency and focus that makes us achieve any of our dream even though how difficult it seems to be in beginning.
- There is no proper age to learn anything, always be a learner: When I decided to learn skate, the first thing I asked to my instructor: "Can adult learn to skate and further do you teach adults to learn skating?", and he was like : "Yes sir, why not and believe me you can learn to skate more faster than kids". This made me feel so much happy and motivated me to join the skating classes. Again next day when I went to skating rink, I saw all small kids learning to skate, and I started feeling so discomfort to wear the skates. This happens to most of us in our daily lives, where we say: "Now it's very late to learn this skill, what will the younger people think about me?". But once we leave this thought and focus on learning, we start feeling that no one is judging us and it was ourselves only who was overthinking and restricting us to learn.
